Reviewing license information

IMPORTANT  This article does not apply to Backupify customers and only users with the Admin role can view the Licenses page.

The Licenses page lets you review the license usage in your organization.

The Licenses page consists of a summary table, which shows your total license usage for each subscription type. To open the Licenses tab, click Licenses on the SaaS Protection Status page.

If you have a Kaseya 365 User subscription, the Kaseya 365 section displays at the top of the Licenses page. The following information is provided for each license:

  • Type: Standard for any active users or Archive for any users that have been removed from your environment but continue to consume a license because Datto SaaS Protection retains the user's previously backed up data.

  • Billable Usage: The number of licenses billable in the current month's cycle.

  • Licenses On The Subscription: The total number of licenses available on the subscription.

  • Expiration Date: The date the licenses will no longer be available on the subscription.


If you have a newer standalone subscription, the SaaS Protection section provides the following information for each license:

  • Type: Standard for any active users or Archive for any users that have been removed from your environment but continue to consume a license because Datto SaaS Protection retains the user's previously backed up data.

  • Billable Usage: The number of licenses billable in the current month's cycle.

  • Licenses On The Subscription: The total number of licenses available on the subscription.

  • Expiration Date: The date the licenses will no longer be available on the subscription.


The Legacy SaaS Protection License Usage Summary table presents the total license usage for your organization based on commitment term, retention type, and subscription.

The following columns detail the license data:

  • The Invoiced date column shows the license usage for the last Datto SaaS Protection invoice you received.

  • The Billable Usage indicates the license usage at this point in time for the current invoice.

  • To help you anticipate your next invoice, the Billable Pricing Pool column conveys the pricing tier the Billable Usage falls in for each subscription.

Click View Invoices to review purchases and account statements or to download a monthly invoice.

NOTE  Billable usage for one-year subscriptions is determined by the total number of protected seats at the end of the month or the committed license amount, whichever is greater. Billable usage for month-to-month subscriptions is determined by the total number of protected seats at the end of the month.
