Integrating SaaS Protection with Datto Workplace

Pairing Datto SaaS Protection with Datto Workplace enables you to leverage Workplace as a storage option for your SaaS Protection files.

This article explains how to configure the integration.

NOTE  The Workplace project you use for the integration must have an owner. If you're using a metered Workplace plan, the storage used by the integration files will come from the project owner's storage allocation. For more information about projects, refer to Getting Started: Projects.

Overview

The integration facilitates exporting SaaS Protection data to Workplace for convenient access and collaboration. It also provides an alternate method to create backups of your SaaS Protection user data. The benefits include:

  • Export of backup snapshots, individual files, and folders directly from SaaS Protection to Datto Workplace

  • Export of zip files that preserve folder structure

  • Easy access from Datto SaaS Protection to see exports made to Datto Workplace

  • Indefinite file storage

  • Extensive and customizable sharing options

How to...

First, you'll need to enable the Datto SaaS Protection Integration feature in your Datto Workplace Manager instance. To do so, follow the steps described in our SaaS Protection file storage integration topic.

Once you've done so, proceed to the next section of this article.

  1. Log in to the Datto Partner Portal.

  2. In the top navigation menu, select Admin > Integrations.

  3. The Integrations page will load. Click Other integrations.

  4. Locate the Datto Workplace Integration area and click Enable Integration.

  5. The configuration page will open. Using the information you copied from Datto Workplace, paste the Endpoint URL, Client ID, and Client Secret values into their corresponding fields.

  6. Click Authenticate.

  7. Once the application handshake completes, the option to disable the integration will appear. You can now use Datto Workplace as a Datto SaaS Protection file export destination.
