Reauthorizing with the M365 global administrator

This article walks through reauthorizing Datto SaaS Protection for M365. This procedure requires M365 global administrator privileges.

Environment

  • Datto SaaS Protection for M365
  • M365 Admin portal

Description

This process could adversely impact your backups if not completed properly and should only be used when directed by Datto SaaS Protection support or communicated through an official Datto SaaS protection announcement.

IMPORTANT  To prepare for Microsoft's deprecation of the Exchange Web Services (EWS) API on October 1, 2026, SaaS Protection of Exchange services will be migrated to the Microsoft Graph API by June 30th, 2026. To continue running Exchange backups, you must use this procedure to reauthorize your M365 account by May 30, 2026.

To reauthorize Datto SaaS Protection for M365:

  1. Open an incognito browser tab.

IMPORTANT  You must be connected to your Datto SaaS Protection organization and navigate to the above URL from an incognito browser tab to ensure you reauthorize the correct M365 tenant.

  1. Access the SaaS protection organization you will reauthorize by doing one of the following:

  • Log in to Backupify or your single-org SaaS Protection environment as an administrator. Your organization's Overview page displays.

OR

  • Log in to your multi-org SaaS Protection environment as an administrator. On the SaaS Protection Status > Overview tab, click your organization's name in the list.

  1. Navigate to https://app.backupify.com/office365/reauth.

  1. Log in to M365 as a global administrator.

  2. Datto SaaS Protection is reauthorized and you are returned to the Datto SaaS Protection UI.
