SaaS Protection: Reauthorizing your Teams integration
This article explains how to reauthorize your Microsoft Teams integration.
Description
IMPORTANT Beginning in 2022, we began communicating the need to reauthorize access to your Microsoft tenants due to a Microsoft API that was expected to be disabled on January 31, 2023. This is the final notice! Deadline is May 29 2024.
As anticipated, Microsoft is no longer supporting the EWS (Exchange Web Services) API – which is the legacy connection Datto SaaS Protection used to back up your Microsoft Teams conversations. We now use the much-improved Graph API to perform Microsoft Teams backups.
Reauthorization is required to ensure that we continue protecting your Teams data.
Reauthorizing Teams
-
On the Datto SaaS Protection Status page, tenants requiring reauthorization have a
icon next to their Organization Name.
-
To reauthorize the tenant, click the
icon and select the Check Authorization link.
-
Do one of the following:
If you are managing the organization, sign in with the Global Administrator credentials to complete the reauthorization. View and Accept the updated Teams permissions list.
If this is a client-managed organization, enter the Global Administrator's email in the form that displays to send the reauthorization link to the client. Follow up with the client to ensure that the reauthorization process has been completed successfully.
